"Sorry" Die-Cut Sticker
Approximately 3" x 3"
This piece began as a wolf grappling a sheep's head — and quietly became something else entirely.
"Sorry" is a Little Red Riding Hood motif reimagined through the lens of enmeshment and shared pain. In the image, a female figure's head becomes the bouquet wrapping for peonies — flowers that symbolize health — offered to the viewer by the wolf. The wolf's neck is ensnarled just as the female's is, raising the question at the heart of the piece: Who owns the problem?
Where does one person end and the other begin? The title implies that the pain wasn't intentional — and explores how we can beckon suffering onto ourselves through another.
A piece for those who sit with complex feelings, who have loved something that hurt them, or who find meaning in art that asks more than it answers.
