This piece was drawn in response to a song of the same name. Two abstract figures, connected by braids that loop between them into infinity. Hair as memory. Hair as lineage. The intimate, unbreakable thread between who loved you and who you are becoming.
There is a little girl in this piece somewhere. The one who was told she could do as she pleased — who was never made to be something she wasn't. This is for her. This is for walking straight in her honour. For the grandmothers and the stars they became. For the memories that live in the body, that ask only to be carried forward with care.
