The brain is empty. The halo is adorned with peonies — healing, health, the flowers of the body at peace. The face is serene. Angelic, even. Looking forward, looking nowhere, looking away from the thing it cannot bear to see.

But on the back of the head, hidden from the front, a third eye weeps.

Angel No-See is a play on the monkey who covers its eyes — the deliberate, careful, sometimes necessary act of not looking. Of choosing not to know. Of letting the wound weep quietly out of sight while the front of you holds its composure and its peony crown and keeps moving.

The third eye sees what the mind refuses to hold. The tears fall where no one is looking. And the angel stays serene, because sometimes that is all you can do.
